I've been binging your videos and man, you continue to blow my mind in making these connections!

Great stuff. I've always thought that the difference between Dawn (which I think is probably lightbringer, or was at least created in the same way) and Valyrian steel was the nature of the sacrifice used to create it, with obsidian being key ingredients in both. Willing sacrifice? Blade turns black. Unwilling sacrifice (Nissa Nissa)? Blade turns milk-glass. But....the involvement of the two varieties of magical trees makes a whole lot of sense...and you almost have to be right about the "breaking" of dawn. So..perhaps the current Dawn was simply made in the same way? Or reforged? Maybe it's no longer glowing because its power was spent? Your idea of trapping souls in things and it having something to do with the type of magical tree used....what if rather than literal ingredients, it was instead which type of tree a ritual was performed in front of? Or, taking the idea even further....maybe the Others are the result of the souls in Weirwood trees being put into human bodies...and the dragon-line that eventually resulted in the Valyrians was the result of the souls inside the corrupt Shade trees being put into humans bodies? Every time we hear of a Targaryen baby born deformed with dragon features, the word corruption is mentioned....

"What is dead may never die" and a long lived, grey skin person, more corpse than man, brings to mind vampires or even liches. I love the richness of the Planetos lore and all the woven influences to speculate on.

So Ned was sacrificed in order to reforge Ice into two swords.

Makes me rethink that scene with Maester Aemon and Jon Snow were talking about... brothers who had the opposite duty that they did. "Who are you? You're Aemon Targaryan!" I have to reread and rewatch it, now.

After all of the evidence that kinslaying caused the imbalance of seasons (winter slaying summer),I don't understand how you can reach the conclusion that the embodiment of summer doing the same in return would fix things. I fail to see how another kinslaying is the solution. Two wrongs don't make a right. Would symbolically slaying winter not just cause the same problem to happen in reverse, like endless brutal summers that cause droughts and famines?

We also see Theon symbolically killing his “brother” Bran before undergoing a grey transformation as well

Ever since you (I think it was you!) pointed out that "king" and "priest" can be confused because of how those were intertwined in the old days, it made me think about Bran's kingship. It doesnt seem likely he will be a political king, but rather the priest of Westeros. The Green Man. Also, what do you think about the part about Bran helping to kill Winter? Perhaps it will be Jon? Not a literal brother, but close enough. And it could be connected to the "Prince Who Was Promised" part. Just spit-balling! Seems like there are some loose threads floating around and I'm just grabbing them, not sure where they go!

When you think about, there's definitely a lot of brother on brother and sibling murder.. a lot..

Very illuminating as always, Ms. Daughters. I think kinslaying is a great crime in any context. And all 8 billion of us are kin. But I agree with the nice Targaryen Lady: no war is as cruel or as hated as the war between Kin (like closer kin.)
